Checking the one-time password

Account recovery

Whenever! a customer tries to log in using their credentials or their account gets locked due to multiple failed! attempts! companies can exchange one-time passwords via WhatsApp to confirm access and reset the password.

In the WhatsApp overseas data  Business API, they set up two-factor authentication to verify the authenticity of access before allowing access to an account.  This provides an additional layer of security and makes it safer for hackers to access customer accounts.

5. WhatsApp Authentication for Registration

WhatsApp authentication for registration is done using two-factor authentication, which verifies the user’s identity before logging in. While legacy security tools like password managers and MFA try to deal with the complexities of usernames and passwords, they rely on an outdated structure – a password database. Once 2FA is enabled, the user is required to create and confirm a unique NUMERICAL PIN, which is required to access your account. The 2FA verification PIN is different from the 6-digit registration code you receive via text or phone call.

6. Forget passwords

Once two-factor authentication an unobvious but effective channel of attraction is enabled, users can add their email address. This allows WhatsApp to send users a password reset link if they forget their password or PIN, and also helps protect the account.

Whatsapp usually asks you to enter your PIN as a reminder. Until you reset your password, you will receive a reminder once a week.

Here is a critical use case of 2-step verification for order delivery. Authentication of customer details like mobile number gives confidence that the order will be delivered to the right person. Verification can be done by data on sending an OTP code to the registered mobile number of the customer and he/she has to enter the OTP before proceeding with the order delivery. If the customer gives the correct OTP, the order will be delivered. Otherwise, the courier will reject the order delivery.
